Sandy grew up in the lowcountry of South Carolina and was born with a strong love of horses. She got her first pony at the age of 3, who was the epitome of a Thelwell pony. While in college, she managed to keep a connection to the horse world by braiding in Florida over the summers. After college she enjoyed a very rewarding career as a molecular biology technician and continued riding hunter/jumpers in South Carolina. She, along with her husband Mike, rescue cat Mia and 7 year old Oldenburg Bella, made the move to Western North Carolina; and she joined the Hunt Country Team in July of 2021. She absolutely loves it up here and says the icing on the cake was joining the Hunt Country Equine family!
