Dr. Sally Banner Brown grew up in Maryland, involved with horses from a young age. She was active in 4-H, pony lcub, and competed in the local hunter circuit. She did her undergraduate education as an animal science major at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana including a year abroad at the University College of North Wales. She completed her veterinary degree with honors from the University of Illinois in 1995. After an internship year at Rochester Equine Clinic in New Hampshire, she took an associate position with one of the referring veterinarians in nearby New Boston where she practiced for four years. The New England winters prompted her move to the low country of South Carolina in 2000, where she has been practicing for the last 24 years. She enjoys the varierty in emergency medicine, ophthalmology, geriatric care, general wellness, and anesthesia. For years, Sally and her husband Frank have enjoyed visiting WNC and finally made the move the summer of 2024. Their family includes two rescue dogs, a mule and a donkey. Sally is excited to be a part of the Hunt Country Equine Team and looks forward to meeting clients from all backgrounds.
