Dr. Rachel Benfield

Dr. Benfield is originally from Brooksville, Florida, where she grew up riding and showing on the APHA circuit. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and her DVM from the University of Florida. Following graduation from veterinary school, she pursued an internship at Piedmont Equine Associates in Madison, Georgia where she gained valuable skills in anesthesia, lameness diagnosis and treatment and internal medicine. She has spent the past two years practicing in Central Florida before moving to North Carolina to be closer to family and friends.
Her professional interests include dentistry, emergency medicine, and sports medicine. When she’s not at work, you can find her hiking, reading, watching sports (Go Gators!), or spending time with her dog, Pesto.
