Rachael joined Hunt Country Equine in September of 2019 as a veterinary assistant and took on the practice manager role in June of 2022. She grew up in the outskirts of Detroit where her love of horses began and where she worked off riding lessons as a kid, mucking stalls and tacking horses for lessons. She got her heart horse, Mister at age 16 and competed him in the hunters. She decided to expand her horizons after completing her certification in Horse Management from Michigan State University in 2010, and moved down to the Blue Ridge Foothills. She has held many positions in the equine industry from running several riding schools and summer camps, to training and farm management. Rachael has worked in the equine veterinary field for the past decade and is excited to be a part of the exceptional team at Hunt Country Equine. She grew up riding hunter/jumpers and recently started eventing. In her spare time, she enjoys drawing, gardening, travel, hiking with her husband and 4 dogs and riding her horses.
