Dr. Miller Thornbury

 
Dr. Miller Thornbury, DVM is from Paris Kentucky, where he grew up around the Thoroughbred industry. His grandfather, a horseman, partnered in business with an equine veterinarian. The two established Sunnyside Farm in Paris Kentucky as a breeding, breaking, surgery and recuperation enterprise in the 1960’s.His father trains thoroughbreds and continues to manage Sunnyside Farm. Dr. Thornbury’s path to becoming an equine veterinarian was a result of him studying those he most admired growing up, and a love for the horse he developed at a young age. He completed his undergraduate work at Sewanee: The University of the South, where he earned a B.S. in Biology in 2012. He received his veterinary degree from Auburn University in the spring of 2017. Following graduation, he completed a rotating internship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington Kentucky where he was exposed to emergency care, surgery, anesthesia, lameness diagnostics, and internal medicine. Dr. Thornbury joined Hunt Country Equine as an associate in the fall of 2018. His professional goal is to provide the horse and owner with quality primary care and transparency. Outside of work he most enjoys spending time with family and balancing his interest of equine medicine through other creative pursuits. Dr. Thornbury is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).
